Aras®, the next leader in enterprise Product Lifecycle
Management (PLM) software, today announced that the company will present a
session at the 2016 Continuous Engineering Symposium set for April 19, 2016
at the Automotive Hall of Fame, Dearborn, Michigan. Doug Macdonald, Aras
Product Marketing Director, will deliver a technical presentation entitled
“The Future of ALM-PLM and Systems Engineering for the Internet of Things.”

The 2016 Continuous Engineering Symposium gathers global product
development leaders who drive innovation in their organizations, while
meeting today’s demands of increased product complexity and speed of
development. Hosted by IBM, the event focuses on technology, trends,
systems engineering and systems and software development.

As product design and development grows more complicated in the era of the
Internet of Things, increased complexity creates new challenges. Highly
collaborative cross discipline engineering processes have never been more
important to the successful development of next generation vehicles,
aircraft, industrial equipment, defense technologies, healthcare, and
consumer products. In the Aras presentation, attendees will see a real-life
scenario of a unified ALM-PLM approach for systems engineering in product
development using OASIS Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration (OSLC).

The session presenter, Doug Macdonald, brings more than 25 years’
experience helping manufacturing companies streamline their processes for
bringing new products to market. He draws from deep experience serving in
technical business development positions at IBM, SAP, PTC, Aspect
Development, and Sherpa Corporation. Macdonald began his career as a
software developer with ComputerVision, followed by positions at Ford Motor
Company and Coopers & Lybrand. He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering
from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh.
